Hi, I’m Carter
MA, LPC
(he/him)
I see the human experience as marked by variety and colored by experience — a rich mosaic of moments, identities, and emotions that shape who we are. My work as a therapist centers on honoring that complexity while helping clients find meaning, balance, and connection within it.
I bring an emphasis on each client’s unique worldview to the therapeutic relationship. I utilize a person-centered approach with mindfulness techniques, cognitive behavioral skills, feminist perspectives, and I incorporate other interventions based on each individual’s needs. I have a passion for working with LGBQ and transgender/gender nonconforming communities, as well as other diverse identities and populations.
I am skilled in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues, as well as life transitions and career changes. My approach is strongly influenced by the needs of each individual, and I feel drawn to exploring the nuanced impacts of each client’s life circumstances, environment, and upbringing.
I received my master’s degree in Counseling and Career Development with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Utah State University. My training and experience enable me to treat a wide range of adult mental health concerns in individual and group settings.
